Things to do in Vaughan

Air-Riderz-Vaughan

As we enter November and the weather starts to turn, it’s hard to find activities suitable for the family – especially for families with younger children. Below are some suggestions in Vaughan that will provide you with quality family time as you prepare for the change in season.

Visit a historical site: Black Creek Pioneer Village

Black Creek Pioneer Village offers you a fascinating opportunity to journey into the past – the way people lived before cars, digital technology and urbanization.

Black Creek is a working village, a replica of those established in south central Ontario between the 1790s and the 1860s. At Black Creek, they invite you to escape the modern world, and experience Ontario’s rich rural heritage.

Black Creek offers a variety of activities: discovery stations encouraging exploration into a variety of themes from the era, the opportunity to interact with farmyard animals, hands-on projects and history actors – imitating the people who would of lived in the Toronto region 150 years ago. This is sure to be a great educational experience for you and your family, click here for more information.

Go on a family hike: Kortright Centre for Conservation

Since 1982, the Kortright Centre has been a centre of excellence in the field of sustainable technology.

Explore the 1.6-kilometre Innovation Trail with your family and see Canada’s largest educational demonstrations of renewable energy and energy efficient technologies. The centre also offers energy workshops where you can learn how to conserve energy and money!

With how prominent technology is in today’s world, this activity will provide you and your family with eco-friendly learning about technologies that are beneficial to our planet. A great experience for any family, especially for those with interests in technology and the outdoors, click here to learn more.

Have a creative experience: The McMichael Art Gallery

The McMichael Art Gallery is located on the original lands of the Ojibwe Anishinaabe People. It sits along the Carrying Place Trail which historically provided an important link for Aboriginal people between Ontario’s Lakeshore and the Lake Simcoe-Georgian Bay Region.

The McMichael Canadian Art Collection is the only public fine art gallery in the nation that focuses on Canadian art and the Indigenous art of our country, both historical and contemporary. The permanent collection consists of over 6,400 artworks by Tom Thomson, the Group of Seven, their contemporaries, and First Nations, Métis, Inuit and contemporary artists who have contributed to Canadian art.

The gallery strives to be recognized as an extraordinary place to visit and explore Canadian culture and identity. A definite must see for your family if you wish to learn about Canadian art history. Learn more about this art gallery here.

Samson Luke, March 2020
“The easiest birthday party I have ever planned! Air Riderz makes it incredibly easy and convenient to host birthday parties. From online booking of the event, to food orders to having your own amazing host to prepare the food, serve and clean up.... you couldn't have asked for more! The facility is clean. It's not as crowded as other places and the staff are fantastically friendly. Well worth it! Highly recommend this place! ”
Fred T , March 2020
“Great place for kids - don’t go on the climb if you are afraid of heights - they have cubbies for your jackets and boots and they also have complimentary smaller lockers for your purse or cellphone or keys and whatnot. If you are a support worker, you can let the front desk agent know and they will comp your ticket. They have a dodgeball court which makes you exhausted and 3 basketball nets which in my opinion is the greatest.”
Francesca L , March 2020
“This place is honestly amazing. My kids had a blasssst! We’re going to be coming back everyday cause we got the 30 day pass for so cheap! Great deals!”
